Mostly Sorted and Event Organisation

There were a few days of downtime at the end of March/beginning of April but that has been sorted and Jarfm.com is still running as it was before that short break. Work has been mega busy during April so nothing much was able to happen on here but now that April is out of the way (and CampNaNoWriMo has been won!) I should have some time to get some new things posted. There is also a side project that I am going to be working on but that will not…

My Filofax – All Change!

I have recently been suffering from extreme shoulder and arm pain, also affecting my neck muscles at times as well. So I made the decision to try and use my mini Metropol Filofax on the go and then use my A5 zipped Holborn again at home, instead of my VERY stuffed and rather solid, brick like personal Malden! This will mean that EVERYTHING will be entered into my A5 and then every week all the weeks appointments get transferred to the weekly pages (the month on 2 pages will be…

Tracking Health – Filofax & Fitbit or Filofax & Pulse?

Since I started my new job at the pub I have been losing weight – without even really trying to. I don’t know how much I weighed when I started but I do know that in the last month I have lost over a stone. I know I had already lost quite a bit as you could already tell in my face and from my slimmer tummy that I had. I wish I knew what I weighed prior to starting working there! I have been using My Fitness Pal app…

Teacher Planning Pages Format & Show Me Your Pages!

Teacher Planning Pages Format I have had quite a bit of feedback lately from Teachers who have more lessons per day and would like to use my pages for their planning. It would therefore seem a good idea for me to make some variations on my basic 5 lesson planning pages available for others to print and use in their Filofax or other chosen binder for this coming school year. For this to happen I need your help! I have created a poll – which should be on the right…

Sadness and Blues

Today I finally found out I did not get the job I interviewed for last Friday. I cannot even tell you how gutted I was to not get the job. Those of you that read my last post will know that I only recently started a new job. However, the job is only part time and I really need to find myself a full time job so I can move. I really need to find myself somewhere to move to before I go even more crazy where I currently am.…

A New Job, A New Layout…

Two months ago I started a new job. It might surprise some of you to read that it is not at a school but in a pub near to where I live. It’s only part time but I have been working as many hours as I can to pay the bills and I have been loving it! It has been physically exhausting, mainly because of the heat behind the bar as the bar air con doesn’t really work that well, but its also because there are full washer trays of…

Teacher’s Organiser Summer Pages Now Available

For those of you that Teach, you may have seen the Spring 2013 Organiser pages I created with the help of Ray ready for you to print and use. Well I have now completed the Summer set of pages, with 2 sets available due to Counties having differencies in their summer term dates. I have based the main option on Essex (because I live there), but the Elsewhere option covers an earlier Easter along with an earlier term end. I also know some schools don’t finish until the end of…

Too Much of a Bad Thing

Tonight I have been laying awake in bed worrying. I have not done this for quite a while thankfully, and yet tonight I find myself treading an all too familiar path of worry about things I have little control over. I cannot even begin to explain why I am filled with all these thoughts and fears but they are there and as long as I am being kept busy they hibernate fairly well. They have reared their ugly, nagging head this time because I quit my long term supply position…

The Challenge Ahead

The email I had been waiting for finally arrived Thursday, it was confirming that I would be teaching at the school I talked about in my last post. This is quite a big event for me as I have quite a lot of responsibility combined with some challenging students. Not only do I have to get them through a Functional Skills in ICT qualification, but also their English, Maths and Science qualifications plus any additional awards such as ASDAN Bronze Award or their Food Hygiene certificate. I have to work…
