Time for some different inserts

Since term ended in July I have not been using a diary to write appointments in or to do lists, but that has now changed as I forgot what day it was the other day so missed a meeting! It wasn’t anything life or death but I still should have been there. So after I got last weekend out of the way I clicked on over to Philofaxy to check out what pages I could try out whilst I do not have a teaching job to plan for as the…

New Project #1 RPi

This morning one of the pieces of my new project arrived: Some of will probably know what this is without much need for an introduction, but for the rest of you that don’t, it is a Filofax Finsbury. It is an A5 one in Raspberry… She doesn’t quite lay flat just yet but that is something we will be working on during the training phase of the project 🙂 So, what is this project and what is the training phase all about? I am eagerly awaiting for my Raspberry Pi…

Geek and Proud!

I was just commenting on a post called “Why won’t girls code?” and as I have seen, and been angered by a lot of similar items lately I thought it was about time I posted my own opinion on the matter. I will also explain how I started on my path. So, ready for the mammoth post…? I may have mainly posted about the good old paper based Filofax so far on my website, but I am a technology geek, my love of computers started way back when I was…

Monster Rexel 420 Adjustable Punch

Last Sunday (15th July) I ordered the Rexel 420 Adjustable punch from Amazon and also some additional punch dies from Mayfair Stationers as they did not have them on Amazon at the time – they do now: click here to get them through Amazon! I had just used the regular free delivery option, nothing fast or expensive as I didn’t think the additional punch dies would be available for 2 weeks (I had ordered those first!). Sunday evening I received an email from Amazon saying that my order had been…

Pocket Malden Wallet Setup

Now I have set up my Lyndhurst to stay at home so I can sort out my finances I thought I should see what I could take out of my purse already to put in the receipts and such like. In doing this I decided to try and use my pocket Malden as my wallet to see if I could get on with it. This is the Lyndhurst and Malden together after I’d finished: It’s quite chunky but not stuffed: Inside the front: Just some points cards and vouchers in…

Zip Pockets for A5

I am setting up one of my A5 Filofax so that I can start to properly manage my money. For this I am going to use some zipped files to keep track of things. Rather than spend a fortune of Filofax ones I found some bright coloured zip files in Sainsbury’s, 3 in a pack for £0.99 so I thought they would be a good idea. They are designed to hold an A5 sheet of paper so are in fact just larger all the way round than A5 so they…

Above you can see I have been planning my day and any notes or reminders for the day are at the bottom of the page. Was a little worried the lilac of the paper would be too much but having used it…

A5 zipped Holborn ordered…

Oh dear indeed. I have been looking over the A5 Filofax for a while now. Bearing in mind I already own an A5 zipped Lyndhurst which I have used a bit but it’s so heavy so I switched to my personal Songbird. I have been using it as my planner for work, so I know what I am teaching all my classes but it’s not quite big enough to write much in for that particular purpose. I have been particularly eyeing up the A5 purple Malden and the A5 zipped…

New Filofax Fresh From Sweden!

After a bit of a search online I found a Filofax that I thought might serve as my purse and Filofax. I found it on the Filofax Sweden site, so did a quick currency conversion and then pondered for a bit, but on Sunday I decided to purchase it. I came home from work today (Wednesday) and it had arrived! Brilliant service in my opinion! I opened the parcel and tipped out the contents to find my new organiser, the invoice sheet and some banded diary inserts. I opened the…
