I have been away from my blog for a year now 🙁 partly because my desktop computer broke and partly because work has got in the way. During the past year, I have been promoted at work, been bitten by a dog on my first official day of my promotion whilst at work, worked at several different pubs in my area and ran one outside of my area for 10 days. Had my hours reduced so much that I had to go back to doing some supply teaching, and then…

My Filofax – All Change!
I have recently been suffering from extreme shoulder and arm pain, also affecting my neck muscles at times as well. So I made the decision to try and use my mini Metropol Filofax on the go and then use my A5 zipped Holborn again at home, instead of my VERY stuffed and rather solid, brick like personal Malden! This will mean that EVERYTHING will be entered into my A5 and then every week all the weeks appointments get transferred to the weekly pages (the month on 2 pages will be…
Read MoreThe Challenge Ahead
The email I had been waiting for finally arrived Thursday, it was confirming that I would be teaching at the school I talked about in my last post. This is quite a big event for me as I have quite a lot of responsibility combined with some challenging students. Not only do I have to get them through a Functional Skills in ICT qualification, but also their English, Maths and Science qualifications plus any additional awards such as ASDAN Bronze Award or their Food Hygiene certificate. I have to work…
Read MoreDay Per Page Inserts
A few people have been talking about page a day pages suitable for journalling, I made myself some based on the ones Steve and Ray have on Philofaxy. In addition to the ones mentioned below, I have just made a printable PDF of A4 page a day lined journal pages, all you need to do is print them. You can booklet print them to A4 paper so each page is only A5 or you can print directly to A5 paper if you want to. The file for that is this…
Read MoreEssex UK Mini Meet Up?
Just a quick post about having an Essex UK Mini Meet up – maybe you can join us! There are already 3 of us in Essex that are going to be meeting up really soon (date yet to be decided) but if there are any more Philofaxy readers that would like to join us then give me a shout and we can work out when is best and have even more fun talking about Filofax, organising and stationery! I am proposing that we meet in Chelmsford as it is fairly…
Read MorePhilofaxy September 2012 Meet Up
A last minute cancellation on Wednesday made it possible for me to be asked if I was free to join September 2012’s Philofaxy meet up in London on the Saturday. A few checks of the Filofax and finances later and I said I could go and the arrangements were then made for the trip to London. The plan was to get an early night in Friday night ready for Saturday’s trip but that didn’t happen and when I finally did get to bed I just couldn’t sleep! By the…
Read MoreThe Future of Filofax – An open letter to Helena Bloomer, MD of Slam PR
The following letter gets my support, along with many others within and beyond the Philofaxy community. United we stand in the hope that Slam PR/Filofax will finally pay attention to us – the main consumers of their products. Please feel free to comment to show you support and pass on. You can see the interview to which this refers here. Dear Ms Bloomer, This letter is a response to the interview recently conducted with you by FeaturesExec Media Bulletin, and is being posted simultaneously (more or less) on a number…
Read MoreTime for some different inserts
Since term ended in July I have not been using a diary to write appointments in or to do lists, but that has now changed as I forgot what day it was the other day so missed a meeting! It wasn’t anything life or death but I still should have been there. So after I got last weekend out of the way I clicked on over to Philofaxy to check out what pages I could try out whilst I do not have a teaching job to plan for as the…
Read MoreYou know you’re addicted when…
It’s late, you’re tired, you got into bed and the light is out but then you pick up your iPhone and look at several blogs about Filofax and their owners and all the creative stuff they have inside theirs. You look at the clock – 3 hours ago you should have been in bed (hopefully asleep). True you didn’t get into bed until about an hour ago but still that means for 45 minutes or so you have been clicking and scrolling your way through pages of posts and comments,…
Read MoreMy 1st Philofaxy Conference
Today I took part in Philofaxy’s conference chat and I must say I enjoyed myself! It was great hearing from like-minded people and their stories and ideas about what’s happening in the Filofax world! Am really looking forward to the next one and also hopefully meeting up with everyone at some point in the future! It was nice hearing about things I did not know about and what was coming up, can’t wait to see some of those things coming out. Gave me some ideas and helpful pointers to get…
